Make a meme in three steps
Start with your own photo and a layout. On larger screens the controls sit on the left and the live preview sits on the right. The preview stays compact even when your original photo is large.
- Choose text on a photo, a caption above or below, or two photos stacked or side by side. Add both photos for a comparison layout.
- Select a text box, write your caption, and drag its outline in the preview. Tap the preview to place the selected box, or use the arrow keys for small moves.
- Choose PNG, JPG or WebP and a longest-edge size of 1,200, 2,400 or 4,096 pixels. Your selection outline is left out of the download.
More room for your idea
Use up to eight independent text boxes, including emoji reaction stickers. Each box has its own font, thickness, colour, alignment, outline, background, size, opacity and rotation. Duplicate a box or bring it to the front when captions overlap.
- Quick looks include classic outlined text, clean captions, white labels, neon pink, comic pop and typewriter strips.
- Text wraps automatically, keeps the line breaks you type, and shrinks when necessary to fit. If a box still cannot fit, the tool explains what to change before exporting.
- Frame each photo independently: fill the space or show the whole image, adjust its position, zoom a crop, rotate or mirror it, and choose an effect.
- Try square, portrait, story or landscape canvases, or let the layout follow the first photo's shape. Two-photo layouts use equal panels; differently shaped photos may be cropped unless you choose Show the whole photo.
A clear preview and a separate export
The preview and download use the same drawing rules at different resolutions. A compact preview does not limit your export to its display size. A larger export gives text more pixels, but cannot restore detail missing from a low-resolution source photo.
Photos are processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded by this tool, and no account is required. Images can be up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. Fonts use available device fonts, so their exact appearance may vary between devices.
Frequently asked questions
›Can I move meme text anywhere?
Yes. Select a text box, choose Anywhere on the canvas, and drag the dotted outline or tap the preview. For precise placement, expand the position controls. You can also use arrow keys on the selected outline; hold Shift for a larger move.
›Can I make an expectation versus reality meme?
Choose one of the two-photo layouts, add a photo to each panel, and edit the captions. Assign each text box to the first photo, second photo or the whole canvas. The Swap the photos button exchanges both photos and their framing settings.
›Can I add more than two captions?
Yes. Add up to eight text boxes. You can style them independently, duplicate them, move them freely and add emoji reaction stickers. Empty boxes are not drawn.
›Why does long text become smaller?
The tool reduces text size when needed to keep the entire box inside its chosen area. Widen the box, shorten the caption or choose a different canvas shape if you prefer larger lettering.
›Will my meme have a watermark?
No watermark is added. The dotted outline is an editing guide and does not appear in your PNG, JPG or WebP download.
›Do you upload my photos?
No. Photo loading, editing and downloading happen locally in your browser. Your current meme is kept only for this visit; downloading saves the result to your device.
